Teachers are sometimes overwhelmed with planning documents and don’t have the opportunity to step back and look at things from a broader, school-wide perspective. Using these key documents in the curriculum will change your school community, and create a more cohesive environment for student learning. Use the power of words to bring the school’s curriculum to life and encourage behaviors to empower both students and teachers.

Personal and Professional Ethics

By evolving and then examining both the personal and professional ethics in a school or an organization, stakeholders will develop a cohesive understanding of expectations and responsibilities. This workshop is intense, and professionally challenging; participants will explore their ethical values and how these align to their professional ethics and their connections to the values of the organisation to which they belong.

Inclusion and Diversity for Building School Communities Online

In 2021 our learning environments are changing because of the new world created by the pandemic. It is more important than ever before to promote and foster community building within the school and beyond. This workshop will empower participants to meet the needs of all students more successfully in our challenging and changing world by encouraging teachers to develop current teaching practice through reflection and action. Although it can be confronting, participants will explore and be more aware of their own unconscious biases and assumptions.

Half-day: $180

Planning a MYP interdisciplinary unit

Using excerpts from our books, ‘Interdisciplinary Thinking for Schools: Ethical Dilemmas’, participants will complete an interdisciplinary unit plan to use in the classroom. They will collaborate using ethical dilemmas to develop an authentic real life learning experience that will inspire and engage their students and inspire critical thinking.

Every which way: vertical and horizontal planning for student success

This workshop will provide insights about developing interdisciplinary units of work that are both horizontally and vertically aligned. New ways of collaborating often inspire and engage students in meaningful ways and give different opportunities for peer feedback and learning. This is the way of the future where less emphasis is placed on traditional student groups.
